School Motto
Our College offers students a caring and secure environment in which to seek truth and understanding. Our motto, "Love, Serve, Hope", reflects the College's commitment to Bishop Delany's vision as growing from the beauty and truth of the gospel.
The three words, which comprise the college motto, are taken from St Paul's letter to the Romans
"12: 9-30. Used by St Paul at various times, they were used to urge early Christians to persevere in their new faith in spite of problems. These three words sum up the basic elements of our Christian faith.
Let LOVE be genuine, hate what is evil, hold fast to what is good, love one another with mutual affection; outdo one another showing honour.
Do not lag in zeal, be ardent in spirit, SERVE the Lord. Rejoice in HOPE, be patient in suffering, persevere in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the saints; extend hospitality to strangers."
St Paul's Letter to the Romans 12: 9-13
In choosing the motto, the Enabling Committee who were responsible for the development of the structures and the identifying features of the College searched out what were the essential values of Christian community.
In deciding this, the committee reflected on what were the outstanding values of the present community and what identified it as a Patrician family. The words of "Love, Serve and Hope" were unanimous descriptions of what was so special about the community. These words became the foundation blocks on which the Delany College community could continue to build on the traditions of the past, thus engendering a spirit of hope and trust in an exciting and challenging future.

Love, Serve and Hope
Love, serve and hope, with truth our school is crowned. Praise God the Father, Lord of all, in Christ God’s word is found. From Erin’s shores, Saint Patrick pray for us. God’s Holy Spirit gives us life. Delany standing proud!
From many shores with gifts from cultured lands, we serve Delany proud and strong with open hearts and hands. Bound by the love Christ bears within his Church. United as one voice we sing: Delany standing proud!
